SLIM subsidy: up to 60% reimbursement for learning and development

Through the Dutch SLIM scheme, the government reimburses up to 60% of the costs your SME makes for the learning and development of employees. Training can be part of this, including IT training. We prepare a quote that fits your application and help you plan the right programme.

When can you apply?

The SLIM scheme runs until the end of 2029. There are several application rounds each year. Both 2026 rounds for individual SME applications have closed. The 2027 dates will be announced by Uitvoering van Beleid SZW, the agency of the Dutch Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment.

Who can apply?

• SMEs with fewer than 250 employees
• Partnerships of at least two SMEs, with their own conditions and application rounds

How much subsidy can you receive?

• Percentage: 60% of eligible costs
• Individual application: at least €5,000 in eligible costs, up to approximately €25,000 in subsidy
• Partnership: up to €500,000 per application
• Duration: activities must be completed within 12 months

If a round is oversubscribed, the budget is allocated by lottery. Applying on the first day does not give you priority.

How it works

1. Quote: you request a quote from OEM. We specify the training, numbers and costs.
2. Application: you submit your application during an application round.
3. Decision: you receive the decision on your application.
4. Training: your employees complete the training within the project period.
5. Accountability: afterwards you submit the supporting documents. We provide the certificates and invoices you need.

E-learning can be part of a SLIM project if it fits a structured learning programme. We advise you on this when preparing the quote.

Can I combine several employees and courses?

Yes. One application can cover several employees and courses, up to the maximum subsidy amount.
