- Domain 2 - Information Security Controls, Compliance & Audit Management: selecting and implementing security controls frameworks, planning and conducting security audits, compliance monitoring and reporting
- Domain 3 - Security Program Management & Operations: setting up and managing security programmes, leading SOC, enterprise-level incident response, vulnerability management and security awareness
- Domain 4 - Information Security Core Competencies: technical security domains from a CISO perspective: network defence, application security, cloud security, IAM and data protection
- Domain 5 - Strategic Planning, Finance, Procurement & Third-Party Management: strategic security planning, establishing and defending security budgets, building business cases for security investments, reporting to the Board of Directors
Exam and certification
The CCISO exam (712-50) consists of 150 multiple choice questions and lasts 2.5 hours. The exam is taken via the EC-Council ECC Exam Centre (online). A minimum of 5 years of demonstrable experience in three of the five CCISO domains is required — verified via the EC-Council eligibility application. The certification is valid for 3 years and recognised by the U.S. Department of Defense.
