The GH-200 in-company training teaches your developers and DevOps engineers how to automate workflows with GitHub Actions: the CI/CD and automation solution built into GitHub. You learn to create workflows, build CI/CD pipelines, automate tasks and implement secure workflows. GH-200 lasts 1 day and prepares for the Microsoft Certified: GitHub Actions certification.
Suitable for developers, DevOps engineers and IT professionals who use GitHub and want to automate workflows with GitHub Actions. Required prior knowledge: GH-900 or equivalent GitHub experience, basic knowledge of YAML and CI/CD concepts. Minimum 4 and maximum 12 participants per group.
Day 1: GitHub Actions
Understanding GitHub Actions architecture: workflows, jobs, steps, actions and runners. Writing workflow files in YAML: triggers, events and conditions. Building CI pipelines for automated building and testing. Implementing CD pipelines for automated deployment to staging and production environments. Configuring runners: hosted runners and self-hosted runners for on-premises or cloud. Managing secrets and environment variables. Creating reusable workflows. Publishing actions in the GitHub marketplace. Implementing workflow security: OIDC, securing third-party actions and security policies. Using caching and artefacts for performance optimisation.
