The SC-401 in-company training teaches your information security administrators how to protect sensitive information with Microsoft Purview in the AI era. The training covers information protection, data loss prevention (DLP), retention and insider risk management. You also learn how to protect data used by AI services within Microsoft environments. The official Microsoft course lasts 4 days and prepares for the Microsoft Certified: Information Security Administrator Associate certification.
Suitable for information security administrators, compliance officers, data governance specialists and IT professionals responsible for protecting sensitive data in Microsoft 365 environments. Basic knowledge of Microsoft 365 and security concepts is recommended. Minimum 4 and maximum 12 participants per group.
Day 1: Information Protection and Sensitivity Labels
Implementing Microsoft Purview Information Protection. Creating and configuring sensitivity labels for documents, emails and containers. Implementing label policies for automatic and mandatory labelling. Implementing data classification with sensitive information types and trainable classifiers. Using Content Explorer and Activity Explorer for data insights.
Day 2: Data Loss Prevention
Designing DLP policies for Microsoft 365 services, Teams, Exchange, SharePoint and endpoints. Configuring and managing DLP alerts. Analysing DLP reports. Implementing endpoint DLP via Microsoft Defender for Endpoint. Testing and refining DLP policies. Securing AI assistants and Copilot via DLP.
Day 3: Retention and Compliance
Configuring retention policies for Exchange, SharePoint, Teams and OneDrive. Creating retention labels for records management. Managing regulatory compliance in Microsoft Purview. Implementing eDiscovery (Premium) for legal investigations. Conducting Content Search. Analysing audit logs for compliance monitoring.
Day 4: Insider Risk Management and AI Security
Implementing Insider Risk Management policies for data theft, leaks and policy violations. Activating and configuring Communication Compliance. Implementing Adaptive Protection for dynamic DLP adjustment based on insider risk level. Configuring Microsoft Purview for AI services, Copilot and AI Hub. Preparation for the SC-401 certification exam.
