The Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Foundation Training provides a practical foundation in the principles, practices and organizational approaches of Site Reliability Engineering. This training prepares learners for the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Foundation℠ exam from the DevOps Institute and helps them understand how organizations improve the reliability, scalability and availability of modern IT services.
You will learn how SRE relates to DevOps and how reliability is managed through Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and error budgets. The training also covers monitoring, observability, telemetry, instrumentation, capacity planning, performance management and reducing operational toil through automation.
Additional topics include secure automation, CI/CD, safe deployment practices, incident response, on-call operations, blameless postmortems, anti-fragility, learning from failure, technical debt, change management, risk management and organizational patterns for adopting and scaling SRE.
There are no formal prerequisites for the SRE Foundation certification. Familiarity with common DevOps terminology, DevOps concepts and related work experience is recommended.
