The DP-700 in-company training teaches your data engineers how to build data engineering solutions on Microsoft Fabric: ingesting, transforming, securing, managing and optimising data at enterprise scale. The official Microsoft course lasts 3 days and prepares for the Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification. DP-700 focuses on the data engineering side of Fabric: pipelines, Spark, streaming and architecture.
Suitable for data engineers, big data specialists and cloud engineers who build data pipelines, lakehouses and data architectures on Microsoft Fabric. Required prior knowledge: experience with data engineering, SQL, Python or Spark, and knowledge of Azure data services or Azure Synapse. Minimum 4 and maximum 12 participants per group.
Day 1: Fabric Data Engineering Architecture and Batch Pipelines
Understanding Microsoft Fabric data engineering architecture. Configuring Fabric environment and Git integration. Creating and managing lakehouses with Delta Lake. Building batch data pipelines with Data Factory: copy activities, transformations and orchestration. Using Dataflow Gen2 for low-code data transformation.
Day 2: Spark and Streaming Data
Configuring Apache Spark in Fabric: environments, libraries and runtimes. Writing PySpark and Scala notebooks for large-scale data transformation. Implementing Spark Job Definitions for scheduled batch processing. Building streaming data pipelines with Eventstream for real-time data ingestion. Configuring KQL databases for real-time analysis of streaming data.
Day 3: Security, Monitoring and Deployment
Implementing security: workspace roles, object-level security and row-level security. Integrating Microsoft Purview for data catalogue and data protection. Implementing monitoring for pipelines, notebooks and Spark jobs. Optimising performance for Fabric data engineering workloads. Configuring deployment pipelines for DTAP. Preparation for the DP-700 certification exam.
Course materials, labs and exam vouchers are available as an additional option.
