The PL-300 in-company training teaches your data analysts how to design scalable data models, clean and transform data, enable advanced analytics capabilities and build insightful Power BI reports and dashboards. The official Microsoft course lasts 3 days and prepares for the Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification. PL-300 is one of the most sought-after Microsoft certifications for business analysts and data professionals.
Suitable for data analysts, business analysts, reporting specialists and IT professionals responsible for building and managing Power BI reports and dashboards. Basic knowledge of data analysis and experience with Excel is recommended. Minimum 4 and maximum 12 participants per group.
Day 1: Data Acquisition and Data Modelling
Installing and configuring Power BI Desktop. Connecting to diverse data sources: Excel, SQL Server, SharePoint, Azure and more. Transforming and cleaning data with Power Query Editor: merging, filtering, splitting and supplementing columns. Designing data models: star schema, dimensions and fact tables. Creating and managing relationships. Optimising data model for performance.
Day 2: DAX and Advanced Analytics
Learning to write DAX (Data Analysis Expressions): calculated columns and measures. Implementing time intelligence functions: year-to-date, previous period and growth percentages. Advanced DAX patterns: CALCULATE, FILTER, ALL and context transition. Defining KPIs and targets. Using quick insights and smart narratives.
Day 3: Visualisations, Publishing and Management
Building interactive reports with charts, maps, tables and custom visuals. Configuring cross-filtering and drillthrough. Building paginated reports for print and export. Publishing reports to Power BI service. Creating and pinning dashboards. Implementing row-level security. Creating and sharing Power BI apps. Configuring data refresh and gateways. Preparation for the PL-300 certification exam.
