The PL-400 in-company training teaches your developers how to build advanced Power Platform solutions with code: plug-ins, custom connectors, PCF controls and integrations with external services. The training goes beyond low-code and covers the complete developer lifecycle for Power Platform. The official Microsoft course lasts 4 days and prepares for the Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Developer Associate certification.
Suitable for software developers and IT professionals who extend Power Platform solutions with code, build custom components and implement integrations. Required prior knowledge: PL-900 or PL-200, experience with .NET/C# or JavaScript, knowledge of REST APIs and web services. Minimum 4 and maximum 12 participants per group.
Day 1: Power Platform Architecture and Dataverse Extensibility
Installing and configuring Power Platform developer tools. Understanding Microsoft Dataverse architecture from a developer perspective. Building plug-ins for synchronous and asynchronous business logic. Implementing workflow extensions and custom actions. Using the Dataverse Web API and SDK.
Day 2: Custom Connectors and PCF Controls
Building custom connectors for REST APIs and SOAP services. Configuring authentication: OAuth 2.0, API keys and certificates. Introducing Power Apps Component Framework (PCF). Building custom controls with TypeScript and React. Testing and publishing PCF components in Power Apps.
Day 3: Canvas App Extensions and Integrations
Extending canvas apps with PCF components and custom code. Customising model-driven apps: form scripts, ribbon customisations and web resources. Integrating Azure Functions for serverless compute in Power Platform. Connecting Logic Apps with Power Automate and Dataverse. Integrating Microsoft Graph API in Power Platform solutions.
Day 4: ALM, Testing and Deployment
Implementing application lifecycle management with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions. Exporting, importing and deploying solutions via CI/CD pipelines. Implementing automated testing for Dataverse and Power Apps. Optimising performance and implementing security models. Preparation for the PL-400 certification exam.
